布鲁克林花园之友的历史

布鲁克林花园之友是由董事会于1990年10月6日创建的。50名成员的原始小组的任务是“宣传布鲁克格林花园”的任务。现在，有80多名成员，这些朋友由来自南卡罗来纳州各地的男女组成，他们对布鲁克林花园特别感兴趣并承诺。

该组织的主要功能是计划和进行筹款活动。从1992年到2010年，布鲁克林晚宴是该地区首屈一指的筹款活动之一。在2011年和2012年，朋友主持了花园里的德比日;和En Blanc在2013年。2014年和2015年筹款活动包括棕榈下的一个晚上，布鲁克林花园品酒会的朋友无声拍卖，在动物园里酿造，我们的秋季手工艺酿造节。

这些年来，朋友活动产生的收益支持许多项目。Gardens’ enhancements have included The Welcome Center Plaza featuring “Fillies Playing”, the rice field restoration project, the River Otter Exhibit, the redesign and planting of the entrance plaza surrounding the “Fighting Stallions”, and the migratory waterfowl exhibit, – just to name a few. In 2015 the Friends launched a special two year fundraising initiative in celebration of their 25th anniversary. Money raised from the gala that year was used to purchase the final casting of “The Peacocks”, by Dan Ostermiller. 布鲁克林花园之友继续在保存和促进美国最大的户外雕塑收藏中发挥关键作用，该雕塑在历史悠久的花园环境中展出。
